Q: Is there a dress code for classes? If so, why?

Yes, we have a dress code. It is important for students to abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons:

    • A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and
respect for students, teacher, and the art of dance.
    • Teachers must be able to see the dancer's body outline clearly in
order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc.
    • Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for
 all styles of dance.
    • No jewelry is allowed except for stud earrings. Loose and dangling jewelry is dangerous to yourself and others.
    • Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking.

Q: Do students perform at the end of the year?

Yes! The Dance City Recital is one of the best parts of our year! Seeing our new and returning students at the start of the school year in August is always a joy, but our most rewarding moments come during our annual recital. Students are able to finally show their loved ones everything they've learned during the previous year. We try and make the Dance City Recital a pleasure to attend, as well. Usually during late May or early June, the recital is held in the beautiful Hot Springs Convention Center's Horner Hall. With professional-quality stage, lighting and sound systems, the students feel the magic of performing in front of a live audience!
